1st thing is, Asphalt is made out of crushed rock 22-A or 22-B, Petroleum, Tar and Sand.
Asphalt expanse and contracts durning weather. It bends and it cracks depending how the base of you asphalt
driveway or parkinglot reacts to the earth. (Ground)
If you plan on repaving your driveway or parking lot always remember that if you recap you asphalt with more asphalt
and you have large cracks in the old asphalt, those cracks will come back threw the new asphalt within 2-5 years.
Bottom line: Don't recap your driveway or parking lot, rip it out and replace it.
Now of course it is much more money, but in the long run you will save money as long as you do proper maintenance on
your asphalt.
when paving your asphalt parking lot or driveway remember you should always pave 4 inches compacted. That means after
rolled by the roller it should messure 4 inches of asphalt.
Alway remember to be there and watch the paving company pave your job.
Make sure you have a yard stick to measure and make sure they are giving you all that they have told
you they would or promised.
